Conformación de áreas verdes y espacios abiertos en la transformación urbana de Monterrey del siglo XVII a inicios del siglo XXI Conformation of open and green spaces on the urban transformation of Monterrey from XVII century through the beginning of XXI century
Las dinámicas socioeconómicas y de mercado han llevado a muchas ciudades a extenderse, y a las personas a adquirir una vivienda en la periferia, donde los costos son más asequibles, pero con el inconveniente de que las condiciones del entorno urbano son en su mayoría deficientes incluida la dotación de sus áreas verdes. Para el presente trabajo se seleccionaron los tres asentamientos que concentran la mayor densidad de población infantil (0-14 años) de la Zona Metropolitana de Monterrey. Se obtuvo la superficie de área verde de cada zona habitacional y, se determinaron los metros cuadrados de Espacio Público Efectivo, así como la proximidad a la vivienda en un radio de 400 metros. Entre las conclusiones se estableció que estos asentamientos se ubican en la periferia del área urbana y que la cantidad de metros cuadrados de área verde por habitante es menor con respecto al promedio metropolitano.
La ecoansiedad es un impacto psicológico a la salud derivado del cambio climático. Sus efectos se dan de formas diferenciadas en poblaciones vulnerables. Es importante conocer estrategias de mitigación para avanzar hacia un mundo con mayor justicia climática. Entre ellas están los parques y áreas verdes en las ciudades, pues, por una parte, mitigan el cambio climático al reducir las temperaturas, captar agua de lluvia y fomentar la biodiversidad; por otra, propician la relajación, reducen la ansiedad, favorecen la salud mental, educan sobre la naturaleza local y contribuyen a la construcción de redes locales. El parque en sí mismo ofrece oportunidades valiosas: a la población, para restablecer su salud física y mental, y al medio ambiente, de saneamiento y regulación. A pesar de los múltiples beneficios de la acción climática en los parques, existe cierta renuencia debido a que los esfuerzos de escala reducida pocas veces son percibidos como una contribución a gran escala, a pesar de que sí pueden sumar de forma colectiva entre toda la sociedad.
