Introdução: A Dermatite atópica (DA) consiste em uma patologia caracterizada por quadros inflamatórios associados à respostas do sistema imunológico. Em virtude de possíveis interações complexas entre fatores genéticos e ambientais, pode apresentar-se em diferentes graus de cronicidade, sendo necessárias intervenções terapêuticas e preventivas para minimizar os efeitos sintomatológicos. A utilização de probióticos tem demonstrado resultados positivos frente à DA, conforme revisado nos estudos. Objetivo: Identificar o uso terapêutico e preventivo de probióticos em pacientes pediátricos com dermatite atópica. Metodologia: Consistiu em uma revisão bibliográfica narrativa, analisando trabalhos presentes nos banco de dados, como SCIELO, LILACS e PubMed, atendendo aos descritores propostos para seleção dos artigos e critérios de elegibilidade. Resultados: Foram selecionados 8 artigos que atenderam aos critérios de elegibilidade em um escopo de 76 trabalhos identificados, os quais foram elencados em um quadro abrangendo informações como autores, ano de publicação, metodologia utilizada, microrganismos analisados, resultados obtidos e conclusões. Discussão: Os artigos demonstram a existência de efeitos positivos dos probióticos no que diz respeito à prevenção da DA, desde àqueles que foram suplementados indiretamente no período perinatal, até os que foram suplementados pós-parto. Conclusão: Foi possível identificar resultados significativos no tratamento e prevenção de dermatite atópica em pacientes pediátricos com o uso de probióticos, demonstrando a viabilidade da utilização dos mesmos, seja no período perinatal, seja após o parto.
