A Norma de Desempenho de Edificações Habitacionais, NBR 15575, define limites de desempenho para edificações residenciais. Desde 2019, o item 11 – Desempenho Térmico da norma está sendo revisado por uma comissão de estudos, que elabora uma nova proposta. Frente a isso, este trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar a proposta para a definição das escalas de desempenho térmico. Com base em análises de simulações computacionais, estabeleceu-se a avaliação do desempenho mínimo por meio do percentual de horas ocupadas em que a temperatura operativa do ambiente de permanência prolongada encontra-se dentro de uma faixa de interesse (PHFT) e por meio das temperaturas operativas máxima e mínima. Para definir as escalas que avaliam o desempenho intermediário e superior, foi desenvolvida uma base de dados, a partir da qual se analisou a distribuição da elevação do PHFT dos casos com desempenho superior ao nível mínimo. Para o nível superior foi analisada a distribuição do percentual de redução da carga térmica total dos casos com desempenho intermediário. Destaca-se que as escalas foram elaboradas considerando o clima no qual a edificação está inserida.
A avaliação de desempenho térmico de habitações brasileiras teve o processo normalizado em 2013, com a publicação da NBR 15575. Apesar da sua contribuição para o mercado brasileiro da construção civil, observam-se diversas lacunas na aplicação do seu método. Diante disso, este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar um novo método, proposto para a avaliação do desempenho térmico de edificações residenciais, por meio do procedimento de simulação computacional. Como principais diferenciais do método proposto, citam-se: a análise por meio de simulações anuais; a consideração de cargas internas; a consideração dos efeitos da ventilação natural, assim como a quantificação da carga térmica remanescente. O procedimento baseia-se na comparação do modelo da edificação real com um modelo de referência, que representa um desempenho mínimo a ser superado. A aplicação do método é exemplificada por um estudo de casos, onde evidencia-se a sua capacidade de fornecer aos projetistas informações representativas do desempenho térmico anual da edificação, permitindo escolhas assertivas e que valorizem seu potencial bioclimático.
