Os estudos de geotecnia aplicados a cavernas têm sido fundamentais para o atendimento aos requisitos da legislação ambiental brasileira para a conservação do patrimônio espeleológico em áreas de mineração. Este artigo propõe uma metodologia que classifica os vãos de cavernas ferríferas quanto a sua suscetibilidade à instabilidade estrutural, denominado Índice Geotécnico de Cavernas (IGC). Este índice combina quatro variáveis: (1) Rock Mass Rating (RMR), (2) Raio Hidráulico (RH), (3) Forma do Teto (FT), e (4) Espessura do Teto (ET). O IGC foi calibrado por 4 anos, via monitoramento de 63 vãos de 27 cavernas situadas nos arredores das minas de ferro N4 e N5 em Carajás, Pará. Este novo sistema de classificação demonstrou que 76% dos vãos classificados como de alta a muito alta suscetibilidade à instabilidade estrutural de fato apresentaram alterações físicas, e por outro lado, 94% dos vãos classificados como de baixa suscetibilidade não apresentaram quaisquer tipos de alterações físicas. Os resultados apresentados são analisados com foco na previsibilidade de alterações geoestruturais nas feições espeleológicas e na segurança geotécnica das cavernas ferríferas em áreas de mineração.
Introdução: A violência contra a mulher é uma problemática social muito presente no cotidiano atual, principalmente em países que preservam grandes traços e costumes patriarcais e machistas, como o Brasil. Caracteriza-se como qualquer ato de violência que resulte ou possa resultar em sofrimento físico, psicológico ou sexual à mulher. A partir do exposto, é visto a necessidade de avaliações críticas perante estudos já existentes envolvendo coletas de dados e intervenções no combate à violência contra a mulher. Objetivo: Realizar levantamento bibliográfico acerca do tema violência contra mulher na perspectiva da saúde e relacionar com princípios da bioética. Método: Revisão narrativa de literatura nas bases de dados Pubmed/Medline, Scholar Google, Scielo e Lilacs, com a seguinte combinação de descritores: ("violência" and "mulher" and "Brasil") or "violência doméstica e sexual contra a mulher". Resultados e discussão: Foi constatado que há vários aspectos sociocomportamentais em comum entre as mulheres vítimas de agressão. Foi percebido também que, pelo aumento das políticas públicas de apoio à denúncia de casos de violência, havia um índice extremamente alto de tal modalidade no Brasil. Assim, destaca-se que deve haver uma integração entre todos os setores responsáveis pelo atendimento em saúde, não apenas os da atenção básica mas também dos hospitais e centros de referência. Conclusão: a violência contra a mulher é uma problemática social de importante interesse para se debater na área da saúde, visto que impacta não somente na integridade física da mulher mas também na qualidade de vida quanto aos aspectos emocionais, psicológicos e sociais.
RESUMO: O trabalho em questão compreende um estudo de tecnologias modernas e inovadoras para monitoramento de deslocamentos para barragens e estruturas de mineração. Ele busca estabelecer o propósito do monitoramento de estruturas geotécnicas, relacionando grandezas e parâmetros com os modos de falha associados, e os instrumentos que são aplicáveis nessas particularidades. São levantadas soluções, como GNSS geotécnico, tiltmeter, scanner a laser, estação robótica, radar e extensômetro de fibra ótica. Para cada uma delas são expostas especificidades técnicas, observações gerais e aplicabilidades. Explora-se, ainda, como a instrumentação geotécnica se insere no contexto da automatização de leituras, que é tema primordial nas discussões acerca da segurança e gestão de risco na geotecnia.
