of the headache journals were compared from weeks 0, 4, 8, and 16. Efficacy was measured using the number of migraine attacks monthly, TTH attacks monthly, and HDRS scores. In the assessment periods ( weeks 0, 4, 8, and 16), amitriptyline decreased the frequency of migraines from baseline after four weeks (4.18 vs 3.18, P,.001), eight weeks (4.18 vs 2.45, P ,.001), and 16 weeks (4.18 vs 2.32, P ,.001). In the citalopram group, no significant differences were observed in migraine frequency between baseline and week 4 (4.25 vs 4.07) and week 8 (4.25 vs 3.89), although a statistically significant difference was noted at week 16 (4.25 vs 3.41, P ,.01). The trial suffered no dropouts from drug side effects or breach of exclusion criteria.
