Objetivo do trabalho: Identificar características associadas à adoção de práticas de gestão financeira por produtores rurais do Triângulo Mineiro.
Método: Aplicou-se questionários a 113 produtores rurais de 20 cidades do Triângulo Mineiro. O teste das hipóteses foi realizado a partir da análise de regressão multivariada. Após a obtenção dos resultados, testes adicionais, que abrangeram a utilização de variáveis de interação e a análise fatorial, foram realizados para verificar a robustez do modelo.
Resultados e contribuições do artigo: Identificou-se por meio deste estudo que a idade do produtor, o conhecimento dos custos de produção, a participação em treinamento sobre gestão financeira e a percepção sobre a relevância da gestão financeira são fatores relacionados à adoção de práticas relacionadas a esta. As possíveis contribuições deste estudo residem na compreensão das características gerenciais de produtores rurais de uma importante região do agronegócio brasileiro, além de revelar informações que podem subsidiar estratégias do poder público, sindicatos rurais, cooperativas rurais, instituições financeiras e demais interessados no aperfeiçoamento da gestão rural.
As características do mercado brasileiro e os problemas econômicos iniciados em 2008 dificultam a avaliação das empresas e a identificação de oportunidades de investimento. Ademais, certos segmentos como a siderurgia sofrem com decisões comerciais adotadas por países importadores, o que impacta em seus resultados. Nesse contexto, torna-se relevante testar e divulgar métodos menos conhecidos de avaliação de investimentos, como o de Warren Buffett (WB), que define critérios a serem verificados nas demonstrações financeiras na busca por empresas com potencial de competitividade. Assim, esta pesquisa objetivou analisar a competitividade do setor siderúrgico brasileiro com base no método de WB. O objetivo foi atingindo por meio da análise das demonstrações financeiras das companhias Ferbasa, Gerdau, Gerdau Met, Sid Nacional e Usiminas, no período de 2010 a 2018. Os itens, em sua maioria, foram pontuados anualmente com 0.38 pontos - se atendido ao esperado por WB - e zero - se não atendido -, totalizando uma média máxima de 10 pontos. A empresa com maior potencial de competitividade foi a Ferbasa, com 5.1 pontos, seguida pela Sid Nacional (3.92), Gerdau (3.04), Usiminas (2.7) e Gerdau Met (2.19). Este estudo contribuiu para a difusão de uma forma pouco explorada de análise de investimentos e para o desenvolvimento do próprio método, visto que propôs uma forma de pontuação ainda não observada na literatura. Além disso, permitiu verificar a competitividade de um relevante setor econômico brasileiro.
Em março de 2017 o setor brasileiro de carnes e derivados foi surpreendido com a Operação Carne Fraca, que investigou denúncias de adulteração nos alimentos produzidos por empresas desse segmento. Dentre as investigadas estavam a BRF e a JBS, as duas maiores companhias brasileiras do ramo. Assim, este artigo objetivou averiguar o impacto dessa operação no valor das empresas do setor de carne e derivados listadas na B3. Testou-se a hipótese de eficiência do mercado na forma semiforte e identificou-se os possíveis impactos para acionistas na comparação entre o período anterior e posterior à operação. Aplicou-se o método do estudo de eventos, obtendo-se os dados por meio do site da B3 e pela base Economatica. Rejeitou-se a hipótese nula de não eficiência do mercado (H0A), visto que os retornos anormais acumulados na data do evento foram estatisticamente diferentes de zero. Na comparação dos 20 dias anteriores e posteriores à janela do evento, o teste t pareado demonstrou que a operação não impactou o mercado mesmo após a janela de cinco dias, não se rejeitando a hipótese nula H0B. Sugeriu-se para pesquisas futuras o aumento na janela de estimativa do modelo de regressão e que se teste a hipótese de mercados adaptativos.
