RESUMO: Objetivo: conhecer as vivências/estratégias de mães soropositivas para o HIV, acompanhadas no Serviço de Assistência Especializada, Canoas/RS, após o nascimento dos filhos, nascidos entre julho 2011 a agosto de 2012. Método: estudo de caráter descritivoexploratório, de natureza qualitativa. Foram entrevistadas 10 mulheres no Serviço de Assistência Especializada. Resultados: as informações foram analisadas pelo método de análise de conteúdo, resultando em quatro categorias temáticas: momento do diagnóstico; a revelação do seu diagnóstico; cuidados com seus filhos e cuidando da sua saúde. Conclusões: as mulheres ainda convivem com os sentimentos de dor, culpa e remorso por terem colocado a vida dos filhos em perigo.Temem pelo futuro dos filhos, pois acreditam que poderão vir a morrer e que eles ficarão sozinhos, sem qualquer amparo. Desenvolvem práticas de cuidados, tanto consigo como para com seus filhos. Descritores: Sorodiagnóstico da AIDS; Emoções; Relações mãe-filho. ABSTRACT: Aim: to know the experiences/strategies of HIV, seropositive mothers accompanied in Specialized Care Service, Canoas/RS, after the birth of their children born between July 2011 and August 2012. Method: this is a descriptive exploratory study with qualitative method. Ten women were interviewed in Specialized Care Service. Results: the data were analyzed by content analysis method, resulting in four thematic categories: Diagnosis moment; Disclosure of diagnosis; Cares with their Children and with their own health. Conclusion: women still live with feelings of pain, blame and remorse for putting their children's life in danger. They are afraid of the possibility of their death, because, in this case, the children could be lonely and have no care. develop practices of care for themselves and their children.
