The 4.0 industrial revolution refers to new technologies such as the Internet of Things and Wireless Communication. Currently, the Internet of Things connects more than 26 billion devices, and large industries are implementing Wireless Communication on machine-to-machine communication. Also, individuals continue to seek intelligent technological devices for the efficiency of their daily life tasks. Although the Internet of Things has many applications, the aim of this current investigation is the Wifi communication of an embedded board to an App to identify the advantages of using an IoT board compared to other intelligent control devices. To develop the embedded board containing three sensors and a PIC microcontroller with a Wireless Communication through a Wifi NodeMCU module that sent data to a website for data monitoring and controlling, a quantitative approach, and a V-model was used. The results determined that the development of the embedded board was more economical than a PLC. Based on its low-cost and easy maintenance, it's concluded that the design of the embedded board in this investigation is a good alternative for monitoring sensor data remotely.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
