Many of them appear as chronic conditions, and the owners of the affected cats usually resort to veterinarians who prescribe allopathic treatments trying to reduce evident clinical signs as itch, alopecia and peeling. Homeopathy generally arises as the last alternative to these owners, who decide to experience a different therapy after frequent failures treating with antimicrobians, ointments and even corticoids. The use of homeopathic remedies in pet dermatopathies has been described for years, and in most cases success has been related. This review aims the gathering of information about the history of homeopathy as treatment of various dermatopathies of cats, approaching both the medicine prescribed and the skin diseases treated, as well as the success margin described.
