As tecnologias 3D vêm sendo aplicadas em recursos que ampliam o acesso das pessoas com deficiência visual aos objetos de museu. O objetivo deste artigo é discutir a importância da inclusão das pessoas com deficiência visual no projeto desses recursos. Para isso, foi realizada uma revisão de literatura sobre o acesso das pessoas com deficiência visual aos objetos de museu, a aplicação das tecnologias 3D nesse âmbito e projetos elaborados com co-participação. A inclusão das pessoas com deficiência visual nas equipes de projeto adiciona contribuições e recomendações não centralizadas na cultura visual. Os aprimoramentos resultantes dessa inclusão mostram grande potencial de aplicabilidade e devem envolver decisões desde as escalas para reprodução dos modelos até a seleção das técnicas de impressão e dos materiais. Porém, a ampliação dessa inclusão requer o desenvolvimento de ferramentas, métodos e treinamentos inclusivos.
O uso das novas tecnologias digitais viabiliza estratégias essenciais para a documentação e preservação do patrimônio cultural. A utilização da digitalização 3D permite o registro digital de obras do patrimônio, ao passo que esses registros possibilitam o desenvolvimento de análises e estudos. As digitalizações podem ainda ser utilizadas para a produção de réplicas fidedignas de obras danificadas ou furtadas. Este trabalho tem por objetivo a análise dimensional de réplicas produzidas em resinas a partir do uso da digitalização 3D em conjunto com técnicas de fabricação digital. Nesse sentido, foi adotada uma metodologia de pesquisa experimental, a partir de um estudo de caso. Para tanto, as placas em bronze do monumento a Bento Gonçalves (Porto Alegre, RS) foram digitalizadas em 3D e um trecho de uma delas foi selecionado para a realização de ensaios de fabricação digital. Foram produzidas duas peças, uma pelo processo de usinagem por comando numérico computadorizado (CNC) e outra por impressão 3D por filamento fundido (FFF). A peça usinada foi selecionada para a construção de um molde em silicone para posterior produção das réplicas em resina. Todas as etapas do processo de produção das réplicas foram digitalizadas para a realização de análise dimensional. Os resultados demonstraram que a usinagem CNC é o processo mais preciso dimensionalmente para a produção das réplicas das placas. Entre os materiais ensaiados, a resina de poliéster cristal é a mais apropriada para produção de uma eventual peça de reposição.
A escassez de equipamentos de proteção individual (EPI), provocada pela pandemia de COVID-19, fez com que grupos de pesquisa em design, designers, e membros da comunidade maker, envolvidos no desenvolvimento de tecnologias 3D, em diversos países, trabalhassem para suprir esta demanda oferecendo, através da manufatura aditiva, a fabricação de artefatos de custo relativamente baixo que são simultaneamente detalhados em seu design, complexos em sua articulação e únicos. O objetivo deste trabalho consiste em discutir como a metodologia Design em Parceria impactou as parcerias, as soluções desenvolvidas e os resultados da ação emergencial de enfrentamento realizada na PUC-Rio. Além de estabelecer uma reflexão sobre as contribuições do trabalho desenvolvido para os estudos e ações futuras. O projeto possibilitou a doação de cerca de 20000 face shields, 5000 óculos de proteção, 150 válvulas para a adaptação e apoio em sistemas de ventilação mecânica. Além da quantidade de equipamentos distribuídos, o desenvolvimento desta ação permitiu a divulgação perante a sociedade sobre o papel do designer em trabalhos colaborativos, principalmente, entre áreas diversas na busca por soluções efetivas.
