Eucalyptus dunnii Maiden e Eucalyptus benthamii Maiden & Cambage são espécies de interesse madeireiro cultivadas no Sul do Brasil, adaptadas ao clima frio. O crescimento inicial de plantas jovens é infuenciado pela luminosidade promovendo modifcações na morfoanatomia e fsiologia da folha. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar as modifcações morfofsiológicas de folhas de plantas jovens de E. dunnii e E. benthamii desenvolvidas sob diferentes intensidades luminosas em viveiro, na Mesorregião Serrana de Santa Catarina/Brasil. Folhas de plantas jovens cultivadas por seis meses desenvolvidas em diferentes intensidades luminosas (0%, 50% e 80% de sombreamento) foram avaliadas em secções paradérmicas e transversais em microscopia de luz. Os caracteres anatômicos com maior variação em relação aos diferentes níveis de sombreamento em E. dunnii foram na epiderme (cutícula, estômatos, células epidérmicas ordinárias), enquanto em E. benthamii foram na epiderme e no mesoflo. A plasticidade fenotípica em folhas de E. dunnii e de E. benthamii indicaram os caracteres relacionados ao sistema de revestimento (cutícula e estômatos) como os de maior expressividade em relação aos caracteres do sistema fundamental (parênquima paliçádico e esponjoso). As folhas de E. dunnii e E. benthamii apresentam estratégias adaptativas distintas com relação a plasticidade de caracteres morfofsiológicos.
