Because of the adverse effects of perinatal MA abuse a multidisciplinary team is necessary to detect the consumption, to alleviate side effects and to provide efficient medical care for the newborns. Psychological and social support for the families are also important.
ZusammenfassungDie in den letzten Jahren zunehmend in Mode gekommene illegale Droge „Crystal Meth“ gehört zweifelsohne zu den gefährlichsten derzeit erhältlichen Substanzen. Spätestens seit der Liberalisierung des tschechischen Drogengesetzes im Jahr 2010 scheint Methamphetamin vor allem die grenznahen Bundesländer, wie Sachsen, Thüringen und Bayern, regelrecht zu überfluten. Als problematisch ist das positive Image der Droge als vermeintliche „Brain-Doping-Substanz“ in der Bevölkerung anzusehen. So wird der Konsum fälschlicherweise mit einem modernen, dynamischen, leistungsstarken Lebensstil assoziiert. Doch das Gegenteil ist der Fall. Methamphetamin führt rasch zu einer psychischen Abhängigkeit. Es kommt längerfristig zu anhaltender Unruhe, Angstzuständen, Panikattacken und stark verminderter Leistungsfähigkeit. Des Weiteren sind ein zunehmender körperlicher Verfall zum Beispiel durch Gewichtsabnahme, Herzrhythmusstörungen, Kreislaufstörungen und Schädigung der Nasenschleimhaut zu beobachten. Obwohl Unregelmäßigkeiten im Menstruationszyklus auftreten, kann es dennoch zu einer Schwangerschaft kommen. Da Crystal-Meth plazentagängig ist, verwundert es nicht, dass auch die Zahl der Neugeborenen steigt, welche während der Gravidität einem Methamphetamin-Konsum ausgesetzt waren. Momentan liegen noch keine umfangreichen Informationen über die Auswirkung der Substanz auf die Kindesentwicklung vor, doch einige Studien haben bereits gezeigt, dass sowohl kognitive als auch motorische Defizite in unterschied-lichen Altersgruppen zu verzeichnen sind. Die zunehmende Menge betroffener Kinder ist alarmierend und erfordert letztendlich höchste Aufmerksamkeit aller Mitverantwortlichen.
