RESUMOO presente artigo tem por objetivo refletir sobre o processo de criação em cerâmica e suas possíveis relações com o ensino não formal de Artes Visuais. Para tanto, foram analisadas obras de artistas que manipulam a cerâmica para além de seu uso utilitário, e a partir disto, pretende-se sugerir meios para que as subjetividades dos processos criativos possam ser usadas como referência para alunos, artistas e a comunidade em geral que desejarem usar deste mesmo suporte, auxiliando-os a desenvolver sua poética individual. Foram utilizados os métodos da abordagem qualitativa e da pesquisa ação, permitindo assim que durante o desenvolvimento do projeto, fossem feitos testes e aplicações dos conhecimentos adquiridos, sendo possível desenvolver um processo que seja válido para o ensino de uma forma geral e ainda inclui a criação de uma obra coletiva. Para o embasamento teórico desta pesquisa refletimos a partir das ideias de autores como Ernst Hans Gombrich, Rosalind Krauss, Herbert Read entre outros, e obras coletivas tanto de artistas ceramistas como Antonio Ballester Moreno e Celeida Tostes, quanto de artistas de outros suportes como Mônica Nador e o Coletivo Boa Mistura. Como resultado, percebe-se que a troca de experiência em atelier coletivo abrange possibilidades de construções de imagens, acesso a conhecimentos teórico técnicos e manipulações singulares de matéria prima que ajudam na autodescoberta de uma linguagem expressiva pessoal.Palavras-chave: Cerâmica, processos de criação, ensino de arte.
