This article provides a systematic review of 191 research articles published on the Information Technology (IT) continuance intention between 2001 and 2014. The IT continuance intention literature was analyzed based on a series of dimensions including year of publication, journal, country, author, research methods, type of respondents, the theories and theoretical constructs utilized, and the contexts and technologies examined. Findings suggest that interest in the topic of IT continuance intention has been increasing steadily in recent years, and becomes an emerging area for academic research into the future. In order to improve research in IT continuance intention, future researchers could apply greater use of the theoretical and methodological approaches such as qualitative methods to investigate the continuance intention of information technology.
Social network sites (SNSs) such as MySpace, Facebook, and Youtube have attracted millions of users, many of whom have integrated these sites into their daily practices. There are hundreds of SNSs, with various technological affordances, supporting a wide range of interests and practices. However, the impact of SNSs is increasingly pervasive, with activities ranging from economic and marketing to social and educational. Among the wide impacts of social network sites, they are, anecdotally, becoming increasingly important in today’s businesses. Thus, the purpose of this study is to present a literature review of and classification scheme for research works in business impacts of SNSs, with the aim of clarifying the ways SNSs impact businesses. The review covers 28 journal articles published from 2000 to 2011 and a few months of 2012. The 28 articles classified SNS applications in businesses into six distinct categories: the “marketing and advertising,” “knowledge management,” “social capital,” “relationship management,” “e-commerce,” and “economic model.” The findings reveal that “marketing and advertising” were the most frequently category has been considered in the literature. This review provides a source for discovering business impacts of social network sites and will help to simulate further interest in the area.
Implementing enterprise resource planning systems is a sophisticated, lengthy and costly process which tends to face serious failure. Though many contributing factors have been cited in the literature, the authors argue that the integrated nature of ERP systems, which generally requires an organization to adopt standardized business processes reflected in the software, is one of the key factors contributing to these failures. The integration and standardization imposed by most ERP systems may not be suitable for all types of organizational structures and it seems that some characteristics in organizational structures affect the likelihood of implementation success or failure. Based on the theory of organizational structure, this paper analyzes how the traditional variables which define a firm's organizational structure such as formalization, complexity, and centralization along with two variables of size and CIO position in an organization influence ERP projects success. The paper tests five hypotheses using a sample of 203 Iranian cases. The results show that all of the research variables on organizational structure exert a positive influence on ERP success which confirms all the research hypotheses.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
