Se desconoce la cantidad de nutrimentos removidos por la cosecha del limón Persa, dato que puede contribuir al mejor manejo de la nutrición. El objetivo fue conocer la remoción de nutrimentos por la cosecha de limón Persa en los flujos de floración de primavera e invierno 2013 en Nayarit, en huertos de temporal y riego, y en Veracruz en los flujos de floración de verano e invierno 2015, en dos huertos de temporal .En cada huerto se eligieron cinco árboles y se marcaron brotes de primavera, verano e invierno, Por árbol se cosecharon seis frutos en madurez fisiológica y en la materia seca se determinó la concentración de N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, B. En Nayarit, el riego favoreció la remoción de N y Zn y la interacción agua*flujo de floración afectó la remoción de Ca. Los huertos de Nayarit deberán ser fertilizados con mayor cantidad de S en primavera y con más P, Mn y B en el invierno. Para mejorar la nutrición del limón Persa en Veracruz se deberá incluir la aplicación de P, Ca, Fe y Cu posterior a la cosecha procedente de la brotación de verano, así como la aplicación de N, Ca, Zn y B posterior a la cosecha procedente de la brotación de invierno.
Las poblaciones silvestres de papaya (Carica papaya L.) integran un recurso biológico para el mejoramiento genético de la especie. La predicción de la distribución geográfica de las poblaciones silvestres y cultivadas es una herramienta útil para determinar sitios de colecta para su uso y conservación. Con el objetivo de estimar la distribución potencial de papaya en México, se elaboró una base de datos con información de geo-referenciación de individuos de papaya silvestre y cultivados, posteriormente se aplicó el algoritmo de máxima entropía (MaxEnt) con 22 variables bioclimáticas como predictores. El área total de la distribución potencial de los especímenes silvestres fue de 114 546.5 km2, las áreas de alto potencial se ubicaron en el Golfo de México (sur de Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche) y en la costa de Chiapas. La papaya cultivada presentó una distribución potencial alta en tres zonas: sur de Veracruz, costa de Chiapas y norte de Guerrero, conformando 185 396.9 km2. Las variables que más contribuyeron en el modelo para estimar la distribución potencial de papaya silvestres fueron: temperatura mínima promedio del periodo más frío (33%), temperatura promedio anual (20%) y régimen de humedad del suelo (13%), para la distribución de cultivares las variables más importantes fueron: temperatura mínima promedio del periodo más frío (41%), precipitación del cuatrimestre más lluvioso (19%) y precipitación anual (11%). Los factores ambientales temperatura y precipitación pluvial, fueron comunes en la predicción de distribución de ambos tipos de papaya en México.
El objetivo de la presente investigación consistió en evaluar poblaciones de chile habanero, con fertilización química y orgánica, para rendimiento de semilla y fruto. En 2017 en el Tecnológico Nacional de México campus Roque se establecieron tres genotipos de chile habanero con cinco diferentes tipos de fertilización. Un grupo de variables agronómicas se evaluaron con las normas del SNICS. Las variables se sometieron a un análisis de varianza y componentes principales. La mejor colecta fue el genotipo Rojo Campeche 12 con un peso promedio de fruto de 4.8 g, 27.5 semillas por fruto y una germinación a los 16 días de 39.2%. Con relación a la fertilización se determinó que el mejor peso de fruto se alcanzó con el 50+50% de fertilización química y orgánica. Para semillas por fruto y germinación fue mejor la fertilización química, aunque estadísticamente similar al valor de la fertilización combinada (50+50). Lo anterior, permite explorar genotipos, dosis y oportunidades de aplicación de abonos orgánicos que mejoren la producción y calidad de semilla, con manejo sustentable y amigable con el ambiente.
