This paper deals with the implementation of a version of the MIT LFM-CW radar at the Ecuadorian Space Institute. The effects of near and very near ranges, and free space loss in the performance of the image processing is theoretically revised. Subsequently, the implemented radar is tested in an imaging campaign on a small probing polygon, and very congruent results are obtained.
