Abstrak. Persoalan yang dihadapi dunia pendidikan khusus, khususnya anak tunagrahita salah satunya adalah mengupayakan kesejahteraan dan kemandiriannya setelah lulus dari sekolah. Sehingga dalam pendidikan lebih diarahkan pada pendidikan keterampilan. Oleh karena itu, keterampilan yang diberikan salah satunya adalah hidroponik dengan metode tutor sebaya. Tujuan menggunakan metode tutor sebaya adalah untuk mempermudah anak tunagrahita untuk belajar dan menguasai suatu hal. Metode tutor sebaya cocok diberikan dikarenakan sesuai dengan alur berfikir anak tunagrahita yang berprinsip melihat, meniru, mengimplementasikan. Hasil dengan menggunakan metode ini adalah anak tunagrahita mencapai keterampilan berkomunikasi, berinteraksi dan bekerja sama dengan sosialnya. Abstract. The problem faced by the world of special education, especially mentally retarded children, is one that seeks prosperity and independence after graduating from school. So that education is more directed at skills education. Therefore, the skills provided are hydroponics with the peer tutoring method. The purpose of using the peer tutoring method is to make it easier for mentally retarded children to learn and master things. The suitable peer tutoring method is given because it is in accordance with the flow of thinking of mentally retarded children who have the principle of seeing, imitating, implementing. The results of using this method are mentally retarded children who achieve communication, interacting and working with social skills.
