Objetivo: Apresentar as características do atendimento ambulatorial de queimados em uma unidade de saúde pública. Métodos: Trata- se de uma pesquisa de campo analítica, descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa de dados referentes ao atendimento ambulatorial de pacientes queimados em um Hospital Público de Anápolis, o qual atende a população da Regional de Saúde Pirineus, nos casos de queimadura de baixa e média complexidade. Os dados analisados referem-se à quantificação dos atendimentos no ambulatório hospitalar, ocorridos no ano de 2016 e as características da população atendida, conforme gênero sexual e faixa etária, e da queimadura, quanto o agente causador, região do corpo atingida, superfície corporal queimada e classificação. Resultados: Analisou-se 1.072 fichas de atendimentos. A maioria dos atendimentos ocorreu no mês de abril (10,8%), com prevalência pouco superior da população feminina (53,9%). A faixa etária predominante esteve entre 20 e 24 anos (18,2%). O 2º grau obteve 81,8% das amostras de queimaduras por agente físico e a extensão de 18% de SCQ foi a de maior frequência, classificando a maioria dos atendimentos ambulatorial a paciente médio queimado. Os membros superiores (51,9%) estiveram prevalentes nas ocorrências de queimaduras. O trauma por abrasão foi o agente causador prevalente sobre as demais causas, com incidência de 59,3%. Constatou-se que as queimaduras mais comuns no período foram por abrasão e exposição térmica, com prevalência da população feminina (53,9%). Conclusão: Os resultados apontam para a necessidade de prevenção de queimaduras, tanto para a população masculina quanto para a feminina, com ênfase na proteção dos membros superiores no manuseio de objetos e líquidos muito quentes; além da necessidade de maior cuidado na condução de bicicletas e motocicletas, com atenção as sinalizações e as leis de trânsito e assim evitar os traumas abrasivos e possíveis acidentes mais graves.
