//// Community radios play an important role in times of emergency or public calamity, through the dissemination of guidelines and information of collective interest in relation to basic health procedures, in the formation of community public opinion and in the promotion of health as a right of the citizen. In the case of Mozambique, where radio reaches 90 percent of the population's coverage, it is essential to study the educational role that this means of communication plays in society in times of crisis. In times of a pandemic, such as the one we are experiencing today, transmitting the right information, in the right language and by the right means, contributes significantly to the success of campaigns designed by institutions that manage health. Through the case study, the research analyzes the community radios of Macequece (in Manica’s district ), Sussundenga (in Sussundenga’s district) and Gândwa (in Gondola’s district ) in order to understand their contribution in the production of messages about the COVID-19, to assess whether the messages received at the macro level (Ministry of Health, National Directorate of Health, National Institute of Health, Provincial Health Directorate) undergo some requalification at the micro level (community radios) so that they adapt to the local reality. Through qualitative research and quantitative analysis, it was concluded that the community radios under study contribute to the fight and prevention of COVID-19, through the transmission of information using a language that represents the local imaginary, that is, a language that is understood and understood. understood by local communities.
