A European consensus conference on endometrial carcinoma was held in 2014 to produce multi-disciplinary evidence-based guidelines on selected questions. Given the large body of literature on the management of endometrial carcinoma published since 2014, the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO), the European SocieTy for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), and the European Society of Pathology (ESP) jointly decided to update these evidence-based guidelines and to cover new topics in order to improve the quality of care for women with endometrial carcinoma across Europe and worldwide.

The revised intervention (BFST-D) improved family conflict and treatment adherence significantly, while both ES and BFST-D reduced HbA1c significantly, particularly among adolescents with poor metabolic control. Clinical translation of BFST-D requires further study.

Initiated through ESGO the decision to develop multidisciplinary guidelines has been made jointly by the ESGO, ESTRO, and ESP. The ESGO has provided administrative support. The ESGO, ESTRO and ESP are nonprofit knowledgeable societies.The development group (including all authors) is collectively responsible for the decision to submit for publication. Nicole Concin (chair), Carien L. Creutzberg (cochair), Xavier Matias-Guiu (co-chair) and François Planchamp (methodologist) have written the first draft of the manuscript. All other contributors have actively given personal input, reviewed the manuscript, and have given final approval before submission.

BFST yielded some improvement in parent-adolescent relationships; its effects on diabetes outcomes depended on the adolescent's age and gender. Factors mediating the effectiveness of BFST must be clarified.
