When crystallized from appropriate solvents, the complex aqua-bis(dimethylglyoximato)nitrocobalt (III) may incorporate solvent molecules, thus forming a variety of mixed crystals. In the resulting host-guest crystals, the space group P2l/m and the packing motif of the pure host compound are retained. Lattice constants a and b remain essentially unaltered upon intercalation, whereas c and the monoclinic angle/~ depend largely on the clathrated guest. Space filling and intermolecular contacts are discussed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
