ResumoAtravés da análise do slogan de um alimento funcional, este estudo busca compreender as estratégias discursivas que a indústria alimentícia vem utilizando para criar efeitos de sentido. Vê-se, num primeiro olhar, que o discurso sobre esses produtos está atrelado à questão da mudança de hábitos alimentares, em junção com a aliança formada entre saúde e nutrição. Percebe-se também que este discurso geralmente promete ajustar o organismo humano de forma saudável e prática -como é o caso do slogan do Activia da Danone "funciona para você", em que fica subentendido que, se alguém consome este produto, vai ter seu organismo funcionando corretamente. Para se estudar o corpus pretendido, procurou-se aporte teórico na Análise de Discurso, principalmente sobre slogans, que geralmente são enunciações curtas destinadas à repetição. AbstractThrough the analysis of slogan of a functional food, this paper seeks after understanding the linguistic strategies used by the food industry to create meaning effects. It is noticeable, at a first glance, that the speech from these products is associated to the matters of change of eating habits, along with the alliance formed by health and nutrition, which promises adjusting the human organism in a healthy and practical way -like the Dannon Activia slogan: "works for you", in which is implied the idea that whoever has this product will have their organism functioning correctly. In order to study this corpus, theoric support was found in the area of the Analysis of the Speech, specially about slogans, which usually are short constructions, meant to be repeated. IntroduçãoDucrot, em Esboço de uma teoria polifônica da enunciação, diz que todo discurso é atravessado por várias vozes, tendo como objetivo central o desvelamento do equívoco da tese de unicidade do sujeito falante. Esse autor, ao questionar o pressuposto de que o falante é único e que cada enunciado só pode ser relacionado a um único autor, destaca uma situação de polifonia em que há dois tipos de personagens: os locutores e os enunciadores, sendo os locutores, aqueles que são apresentados no enunciado como seus responsáveis; e os enunciadores, como os seres cujas vozes estão presentes na enunciação, mas que não são responsáveis pela ocorrência de palavras.
