El propósito de esta investigación fue determinar el nivel de alfabetización económica en estudiantes de la carrera de Psicología de la Universidad de La Frontera, Chile. Se aplicó el Test de Alfabetización Económica para Adultos (TAE-A) a 172 estudiantes de distintos niveles académicos dentro de la carrera, de los cuales 111 correspondieron a mujeres. Los resultados indican que estos estudiantes se encuentran en un nivel medio de alfabetización económica, encontrándose diferencias significativas por nivel académico, pero no diferencias por género. Los resultados se interpretan considerando el impacto de la formación obligatoria en Psicología Económica en determinados niveles académicos de la carrera y la necesidad de desarrollar competencias en este ámbito para la formación personal y el futuro ejercicio profesional.
