As disfunções temporomandibulares (DTM) são um grupo de condições osteomusculares dolorosas que causam limitação de abertura da boca, perda da força de mastigação, dor e desconforto nas atividades funcionais. O diagnóstico da DTM representa um conjunto complexo de sinais e sintomas clínicos na região craniofacial, incluindo músculos mastigatórios, articulações temporomandibulares e outras estruturas relacionadas. O tratamento inclui uma abordagem multidisciplinar, pois a etiologia da doença é multifatorial. O objetivo desse estudo é apresentar o perfil de atendimento dos pacientes com disfunção temporomandibular e dor orofacial em um serviço público universitário, compreendendo perfil epidemiológico e diretrizes de tratamento. Existe uma crescente no número da população em todo o mundo que apresenta DTM, devido a isso a abordagem dessa temática é indispensável e urgente.
