Synthesis of Diselenadiazafulvalenes and Influence of Steric Strain on TheirAnodic Behavior. -The synthesis of two diselenadiazafulvalenes (X) and (XVI) starting from o-nitroaniline is reported. Key step of the synthesis involves the thermal rearrangement of alkylsulfanyl-benzoselenazoles like (V) and (XII) into the N-alkylbenzoselenazolethione (VI) and (XIII), respectively. Comparative electrochemical study of these π-donor molecules demonstrates their excellent donor ability and the stabilizing effect of the ethylene bridge on the cation radical species. -(CASAR, Z.; LEBAN, I.; MAJCEN-LE MARECHAL, A.; LORCY*, D.; J.
