Aleksandra Spancerska Sprawozdanie z XV Dni ArabskichReport from the 15 th Arabian Days Отчет о конференции «XV Арабские Дни» XV Dni Arabskie w Łodzi odbyły się w dniach 11 i 12 kwietnia 2018 roku. Tematem przewodnim tegorocznej konferencji był "Świat arabsko-muzułmański. Między konfliktem a współistnieniem". Stanowił on doskonały punkt wyjścia do rozważań, czy w konfliktogennym obszarze świata arabsko-muzułmańskiego jest miejsce na pokojową koegzystencję.Wydarzenie, jak co roku, zostało otwarte przez znawcę cywilizacji arabsko-muzułmańskiej, prof. Marka Dziekana, pełniącego funkcję kierownika Katedry Bliskiego Wschodu i Północnej Afryki, któremu towarzyszył Dziekan Wydziału Studiów Międzynarodowych i Politologicznych UŁ, dr hab. Radosław Bania, prof. nadzw. UŁ. Uroczystą inaugurację tegorocznej konferencji uświetnił swoją obecnością Jan Natkański, były ambasador RP w krajach arabskich, który wygłosił wykład inauguracyjny. Następnie uczestnicy wydarzenia wysłuchali prelekcji prof. Wojciecha Zabłockiego otwierającej wystawę pt. "Zabytki Syrii w szkicowniku architekta Wojciecha Zabłockiego". Pojawiły się na niej liczne rysunki i akwarele, ukazujące piękno architektoniczne miast syryjskich. Była to niebywała okazja do zapoznania się z tymi obiektami, wiele z nich zostało bowiem zniszczonych w czasie wojny domowej, toczącej się w Syrii od 2011 roku.Pierwszy panel tegorocznej konferencji, poświęcony zagadnieniu polityki międzynarodowej po 2011 roku, rozpoczął dr Wojciech Grabowski, podejmując rozważania na temat znaczenia kryzysu dyplomatycznego
Beginning of the XXI Century / Арабская Весна и арабский мир в начале XXI века], Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, Łódź 2020, ss. 296 25 lutego 2020 r. zmarł Hosni Mubarak -polityk, który rządził państwem blisko 30 lat i ustąpił ze stanowiska w 2011 r. wskutek demonstracji społeczeństwa egipskiego domagającego się zmian przybliżających ich kraj do standardów zachodnioeuropejskich 2 . Dziś możemy zadać sobie pytanie jak wygląda Egipt, a także pozostałe państwa regionu po wydarzeniach Arabskiej Wiosny. Recenzowana pozycja zatytułowana Arabska Wiosna i świat arabski u progu XXI wieku, która ukazała się nakładem Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego, autorstwa: Marka Dziekana, Krzysztofa Zdulskiego oraz Radosława Bani stanowi zaproszenie do podjęcia pogłębionej refleksji nad znaczeniem tych wydarzeń.W rozdziale pierwszym zatytułowanym "Świat arabski w przededniu Arabskiej Wiosny", Marek Dziekan, odwołując się do faktów historycznych oraz sprecyzowania kwestii związanych z definiowaniem pojęcia świata arabskiego, wprowadza czytelnika w meandry jednego z najbardziej fascynujących i zróżnicowanych wewnętrznie tworów historyczno-politycznych na świecie. Z całą pewnością nie sposób zrozumieć dzisiejszych wydarzeń na Bliskim Wschodzie chociażby bez wiedzy na temat układu Sykes-Picot z 1916 r., który zadecydo-
