The article presents the main provisions of the socio-economic development assessment methodology for the Russian Federation regions, taking into account the characteristics of regional differentiation, developed under the leadership of S.A. Aivazian and with his direct participation.
In this paper, it is proposed a statistical approach to the format of indices for different directions of the regional socio-econo development. In its application, it is calculated eight indices basic directions of the regional development, their characteris and analysis of relationships. Also, it is presented a procedure the formation of the integral indicator for the living quality co tions which is based on the usage of both information from expe and accounting correlational interrelations of the basic directi indices. As a result, the integral indicator of the living quality co tions has been estimated for the Russian Federation regions us the data for 2015-2016 years, and it is determined the relat ships between the obtained integral indicator of living quality co tions with the regional development characteristics in the ba directions.
The paper presents a probabilistic interpretation of the elements of the matrix, which is used to assess the economic complexity in accordance with the traditional approach. Their properties are given, on the basis of which aggregate indicators are introduced that characterize the nesting of the structures of strong sectors of regional economies. It is shown that aggregate nesting indicators are statistically significant explanatory variables for economic complexity. It is proved that the used procedure for calculating the economic complexity is correct in the sense of the existence and uniqueness of the solution. It is shown that the data that are used to assess the economic complexity in accordance with the author’s approach allow to reflect the formation of value chains and groups of related sectors focused on both the external and internal markets. For this economic complexity, calculated on regional data, its high values correspond to large values of the aggregated nesting indicators. Low values of economic complexity correspond to low values of nesting indicators.
Subject. The article considers indices of socio-economic development of regions.
Objectives. We perform a comparative analysis of indices that characterize the level of economic development of the subjects of the Russian Federation and identify the indices that do not have significant differences.
Methods. The study draws on general scientific methods of analysis.
Results. The correlation analysis at the first stage helped reduce the number of indices to be analyzed at the next stages. At the second stage, we built regressions of each index for the basic characteristics of differentiation. Based on the analysis of beta coefficients, we identified differentiation characteristics, which have a significant impact on the indices in question. At the third stage, we built the matrix of values of the cosines of angles between each pair of indices under consideration.
Conclusions. The analysis of the cosines of angles between indices calculated using the regression coefficients of these indices for differentiation characteristics enabled to confirm the results of correlation analysis and identify a subset of indices that are not distinguishable in solving management tasks parameterized with the use of differentiation characteristics.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
