Este artículo tiene por objetivo medir la brecha de género en matemáticas a partir del análisis de los resultados de los exámenes estandarizados en Colombia, los cuales se presentan al culminar la educación media y la educación superior. Se usan datos del Instituto Colombiano para la Evaluación de la Educación (ICFES) correspondientes a los resultados de las pruebas Saber 11 y Saber Pro. A partir de un modelo de efectos fijos, se encuentra que la educación superior contribuye de manera significativa en la reducción de la brecha en matemáticas, y que esta reducción es mayor entre los estudiantes que eligieron carreras en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (STEM por sus siglas en inglés) que en los que no (no STEM). Estos resultados pueden servir como insumo para la toma de decisiones de política educativa e incluso de política laboral.
