TESIS ResumenIntroducción: La memoria es la información almacenada en las neuronas la cual puede ser recuperada en el futuro para ser utilizada en condiciones adaptativas. La auto-percepción de la pérdida de la memoria misma puede ser un indicador útil para el tamizaje de deterioro cognitivo. Sin embargo, existen pocos estudios sobre auto-percepción de pérdida de la memoria y sus factores asociados.Objetivo: Evaluar si existe asociación entre bajos niveles de actividad física y la presencia de auto-percepción de pérdida de memoria.Métodos: Se realizó un estudio transversal mediante el análisis de datos secundarios del estudio titulado "Lanzamiento de un sustituto de la sal para reducir la presión arterial a nivel poblacional en Perú" donde se reclutó participantes de seis villas del departamento de Tumbes entre Abril y Julio del 2014. En el presente estudio, la variable resultado fue la auto-percepción de pérdida de la memoria, la cual fue medida mediante el British Regional Heart Study Questionnaire y la exposición fue la actividad física que fue medida mediante el IPAQ.Resultados: Se enroló un total de 2376 participantes. La edad media de los participantes fue de 43,3 años (SD: 17,2), donde 1196 (50,4%) eran mujeres. Un total de 293 (12,3%; IC 95% 11,0%-13,7%) individuos reportaron auto-percepción de pérdida de memoria donde 219 (74,7%) presentaban bajo nivel de actividad física. En modelo multivariable, hubo evidencia de asociación entre bajos niveles de actividad física y auto-percepción de pérdida de memoria (RP = 1,20; IC 95% 1,01 -1,44).
