Se realizó un estudio observacional retrospectivo descriptivo de corte trasversal en 195 pacientes operados para determinar los beneficios de la apendicetomía videolaparoscopica versus la técnica convencional durante el periodo de febrero 2017 a agosto 2019 en el Servicio de Cirugía del Hospital Militar Central, donde se tomaron datos de fichas de pacientes en cuanto a sexo, edad, procedencia, abordaje quirúrgico, estancia hospitalaria, tiempo quirúrgico y complicaciones. En general 68 de los pacientes estudiados eran de sexo femenino lo que corresponde al 34,87% y 127 eran de sexo masculino que corresponde al 65,12%, El promedio de edad de los pacientes fue de 30 ± 14,10 años, el mayor porcentaje de las cirugías fue realizada con la técnica convencional 72,31 % y la videolaparoscopica 27,69%, la estancia hospitalaria fue menor en la apendicectomía videolaparoscópica que la convencional. El método videolaparoscópico requirió mayor tiempo quirúrgico, en tanto que, la convencional presento mayor porcentaje de complicaciones post operatorias con predominio de abscesos de pared y seromas. En cuanto a la procedencia de los pacientes, en general, el 34,35% eran de Asunción, el 47,17% del Departamento Central y el 18,46% del interior del país. Palabras claves: Apendicitis aguda. Se realizó un estudio observacional retrospectivo descriptivo de corte trasversal en 44 pacientes operados para determinar la incidencia de complicaciones en pacientes post operados de tiroidectomía total durante el periodo noviembre 2018 a septiembre 2019 en el Servicio de Cirugía del Hospital Militar Central, donde se tomaron datos de fichas de pacientes en cuanto a sexo, edad y evolución de los pacientes operados en dicho período, se observo que el 9,1 % del total de los intervenidos con mayor prevalencia en mujeres presento alguna complicación, de estas el 4,55 % corresponde a la extirpación inadvertida de la glándula paratiroides y el 4,55 % a lesión del nervio laríngeo recurrente, no se evidenciaron otro tipo de complicaciones. El grupo etario de mayor frecuencia es el comprendido entre los 60 y 69 años de edad.
