La enfermedad por arañazo de gato es causada por la bacteria Bartonella henselae, y suele cursar con episodios febriles y linfadenopatía. Se presenta el caso de una paciente de 57 años que presentó complicaciones cutáneas en el lugar de inoculación, con aparición de tejido necrótico y signos de colonización crítica. El abordaje fue realizado por un equipo de enfermería en el domicilio de la paciente aplicando la estrategia TIME. Mediante el uso de solución ácida electrolizada de flujo controlado, apósitos de plata iónica y terapia compresiva se consiguió la cicatrización de la lesión. El uso de solución ácida electrolizada de flujo controlado ejerce un efecto positivo importante durante el proceso de la cicatrización, favorece el desbridamiento de tejido necrótico y el control de la infección. Se necesitan ensayos clínicos que confirmen la seguridad y eficacia de este producto en el tratamiento de heridas.
