El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar un análisis crítico sobre la manera en que las Reformas Educativas de 2013 y 2019 en México, han dado concreción a políticas educativas sexenales que escasamente incorporan estrategias pertinentes para responder a las necesidades educativas como tales. A partir de la investigación “Representaciones sociales de docentes de primaria acerca de la reforma educativa 2012”, estudio cualitativo apoyado en sucesivas entrevistas a profundidad; y de la revisión de fuentes hemerográficas en las que se plasmó la discusión nacional en torno a las reformas y sus consecuencias, se sustenta que, en términos de reformas educativas, ni la imposición carente de flexibilidad, ni el “diálogo” que cede a las presiones de los más férreos, benefician a la educación. Es necesario dejar de ubicar la toma de decisiones sobre la educación en el terreno de las pugnas de carácter político y de las luchas de poder.
