El objetivo principal de este artículo es intentar clarificar y enriquecer el debate de los procesos de cohesión social a través de la propia experiencia de las comunidades migrantes. En este proceso surge la propuesta del Modelo de Integración Mixto (MIM), que estudia los estilos de vida de tres comunidades diversas a través de un enfoque multimétodo basado en una metodología etnográfica y de aculturación a través del consumo. Seguidamente, se exponen los principales hallazgos desde la tipología presentada.

Para ello, el autor se adentra en las raíces bíblicas de la hospitalidad, aportando algunas claves para entender esta virtud hoy. En nuestro mundo actual donde parecería ganar terreno la hostilidad sobre la hospitalidad, la práctica de la hospitalidad constituye un auténtico acto de resistencia.
La construcción de la identidad es un elemento constitutivo en el desarrollo vital de las personas y de los colectivos. En nuestro mundo actual globalizado y diverso, este elemento cobra una relevancia nuclear, más si cabe desde una mirada de los flujos migratorios y la integración social. Es en el día a día donde se juegan muchas de las dinámicas identitarias, en las que se entrelazan procesos de identidad personal y colectiva, tendencias más estáticas y dinámicas. El objetivo de este trabajo es aportar luz a los modelos de integración y de cohesión social desde los procesos de construcción identitaria, en diálogo con el modelo de integración mixto (MIM). Para este fin, se ha presentado muy enriquecedor el dialogo entre el modelo de conductas mayoritarias y minoritarias de J. L. Segundo, el enfoque de las capacidades de A. Sen, los modelos clásicos de integración de personas inmigrantes, el modelo de construcción de identidades de M. Castells, junto al estudio empírico realizado por P. Norris.
Los inmigrantes se observan como mercados emergentes que impactan en la escena cultural, económica, social y política debido al intercambio de experiencias que ocurre. La aculturación del consumidor se utiliza para comprender y describir la adquisición de habilidades y conocimientos relevantes para asumir o no una nueva cultura. El artículo presenta una revisión de tres modelos de aculturación de los consumidores con el objetivo de entender cómo éstos se comportan en un nuevo mercado.

Immigrants are considered emerging markets that impact the cultural, economic, social and political scene, due to the exchange of experiences. Consumer Acculturation is used to understand and describe the acquisition of relevant skills and assume or deny a new culture or knowledge. This paper presents a review of three models of acculturation of consumers in order to understand how they behave in a new market.
El cometido de este trabajo es dar a conocer la realidad de la comunidad salvadoreña en el área de Boston y plantear algunas conclusiones y recomendaciones, con ánimo de apoyar el proceso de integración de dichacomunidad desde una mirada multidisciplinar. Partiendo de un estudio cualitativo etnográfico, se analizan los antecedentes de esta comunidad, pasando por su proceso de integración y situando una mirada especial en tres importantes atributos culturales: el consumo, la celebración y el ocio. Asimismo, se proyectarán algunas conclusiones y recomendaciones según ciertas tendencias que se ejemplifican en tres tipos de personas: la persona tradicional, la persona impulsiva y la persona valiente.
