On-line el 9 de septiembre de 2022 La práctica del buceo como actividad lúdica ha aumentado en los últimos años debido a las mejoras organizativas de los centros y a la seguridad en los equipamientos.Se han descrito algunos beneficios físicos, pero son mucho más conocidos los posibles efectos adversos y los múltiples incidentes que puede causar dicha práctica. Sin embargo, son escasos los estudios que evalúan su potencial efecto beneficioso en la salud mental.A raíz de la experiencia personal de un profesional sanitario con el buceo -hecha de forma lúdica y con la cual mejoró notablemente su estado de estrés postraumático en el que se encontraba sumido tras la primera ola de la pandemia de COVID-19-realizamos una exhaustiva búsqueda bibliográfica sobre este asunto.En este manuscrito se expone un resumen de los artículos más importantes sobre la experiencia que sustenta los posibles beneficios del buceo en la salud mental. Así pues, se sugieren programas en los que se incluyan actividades acuáticas como ambientes terapéuticos.
