ABSTRACT:In this study, three activities (essay, forum, and quiz) offered by Moodle as a Virtual Learning Environment were analyzed in order to learn which is the students' favorite activity and the reason for their preference. The subjects were 19 university health students in an ESP course. The instruments were the very activities used in the course and a final questionnaire. The results showed that 60% of the students preferred the quiz, against 20% who preferred the essay, and 20% the forum. The reasons for these preferences are discussed, considering aspects such as level of students' knowledge and learning styles. The theoretical implications are also presented with an emphasis on the concept of assisted performance, based on Vygotsky's theories. KEYWORDS: student preferences; learning styles; language learning.

Palavras-chave: recursos educacionais abertos, sistemas de autoria abertos, licenças.ABSTRACT -This study investigates the production, adaptation and licensing of free and open teaching materials in the digital environment, known, in the literature, as Open Educational Resources (OERs). The primary objective, based on the analysis of the authoring system Electronic Learning Organizer, is to outline the concept of what we understand as Open Authoring System (OAS), based on the principles of mass collaboration and developed to facilitate the production, adaptation and appropriate licensing of OERs. The secondary objective is to describe the different processes that ensure the opening of these OERs, focusing on what is known as the 4 R's: Reuse, Review, Remixing and Redistribution, also taking into account the question of authorship, with the inclusion of Creative Commons licenses, widely recommended among researchers. The methodology of the study is in agreement with the theoretical postulates of qualitative research in education and describes the OAS which was proposed for the development of the OER. The results indicate that the OAS analyzed, considering the conditions it offers in terms of usability for the teacher, ease of access, cloud storage capacity and the possibility of open licensing, is able to provide educators with the experience of mass collaboration for the production of teaching materials in the language area.
The Popular Pre-University Course/Popular Pre-Universitary (PUPs/ PVPs) are actions of democratization of access to the education and of construction of knowledge with popular class. Beyond that, these courses can be interpreted as networks of indignation and hope (CASTELLS, 2013), in function of their social characteristic of subversion and struggle against the banking and no-Freirean traditional educational system, with connections in stablished networks to articulate minds, create meaning and contest the power. The aim of this work is to present one of the main possibilities of establishment and strengthening of connections in network among the PUPs/PVPs courses: the achievement of meetings to exchange experiences, collective reflection and proposals and popular struggles strengthening. It is concluded that in these meetings of popular courses, there is also a revitalization of the work of Paulo Freire, through uncountable re-readings, which present itself as urgent and needed to the current Brazilian education.
