These studies relate to Red chili dryers sourced from solar energy, the main objective of these experiements to analyses the effectiveness of desiccant CaCl2 at nighttime, so that they can be received by the community. The parameters that are used in this experiment are, Temperature and Relative humidity, temperature and humidity can be maintained. The initial weight of 0.61 kg in drying chamber 1 and 0.60 kg drying chamber 2, then placed in a different drying chamber, and the final result where a 0.61 kg with desiccant and 0.64 kg without desiccant. The result of these experiment with desiccant CaCl2 the weight can be maintained with constantly and drying chamber without dessicant can be reached 0.05 kg.
This study aims to assess effectiveness of indirect solar dryer for drying red chilli. The quality parameters were moisture content and colour (L*,a*,b*) values. The results showed the maximum temperature on sunny hours of the day within drying box varied from 52.4°C to 62.6 °C on 3 days drying period with lower final moisture content and better colour of dried chilli powder using Indirect solar drying than dried in the open sun.
These study relates to coffee dryers sourced from solar energy, the main objective of these experiements are make solar drying tools more effective, save time, and get good quality coffee beans, so that they can be received by the community. The parameters that are used in this combustion are temperature, rh, sun intensity, weight, and Mr. the results obtained are that the temperature can vary between 40-60°C, with a maximum rh is 5%, weighing 4.291 kg, and finally getting the drying rate. The main conclusion are these temperatures are very suitable for drying coffee beans, the higher the intensity of solar radiation will reduce the drying Moisture ratio and can be reduce of mass coffee.
This study investigated the quality of dried whole and half chili pods’ powder dried with solar drying combined with CaCl2 desiccant compared with natural convection solar drying to produce the final chili powder product. Besides the sensory analysis, the quality parameters such as beta-carotene, moisture, vitamin C, and ash content were also observed. The results showed that 57 hours of drying time of whole and half chili pods using solar drying can reach moisture content below 5%. Beta-carotene, ash, and vitamin C contents of the whole chili were higher than those of half chili pods’ dried pepper powder; they were
