PurposeThe purpose of this study is to help teachers resolve the difficulties in assessing the students' characters through the development of valid, reliable, goodness-of-fit statistic instrument of emotional and social intelligence assessment for elementary school students.Design/methodology/approachThis study used a research and development model from Plomp with five phases, such as investigation, design, realization, testing and implementation. The research subjects were 345 students of class IV amongst 20 elementary schools in Yogyakarta. Data collection used questionnaires, documentation, interviews, Forum Group Discussion and an observation. Data analysis used descriptive analysis, Aiken's V, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis formulae.FindingsThe research study helps solve the difficulties of teachers in assessing emotional and social intelligence, which have previously been in only one area of psychomotor. The design of emotional and social intelligence assessment instruments is made from three domains of character, namely, cognitive, affective and psychomotor. The form of the instrument is non-test in three variations. The construct of social and emotional intelligence assessment for a character reinforcement has met the validity, reliability and goodness-of-fit statistic.Research limitations/implicationsThis study explains that the Emotional and Social Intelligence (ESI) model is applied for measuring cognitive, affective and psychomotor in children. This study proves that the ESI model is a comprehensive assessment model for evaluating the children's soft skills, includes (1) personal abilities: the ability to make rational decisions, the ability to design the future and (2) social skills: the ability to work together and the ability to understand other people.Practical implicationsTeachers can measure and determine the condition of children's soft skills by operating the ESI model. Based on the knowledge of the correct soft skill conditions, the teacher can adjust the teaching materials and teaching methods that would improve the child's soft skills regarding to their respective conditions. Mastering these soft skills will affect the children's capability in facing the challenge in the upcoming society's life.Originality/valueThe novelty of this study is the design model of the emotional and social intelligence assessment instrument developed comprehensively and practically as it is created from three domains of character and three forms of non-test questions, so that the assessment is not mechanical, and easily practiced by users.
Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap stres kerja guru perempuan di Kecamatan Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian diskriptif kualitatif, paradigma phenomenologi, model etnografi dan pendekatan psikologi budaya. Metode penelitian depth interview. Subyek penelitian; guru perempuan berkeluarga, punya anak, dan mengalami stress kerja. Hasil penelitian; Pertama, perempuan menjadi guru karena; aktualisasi diri, bersosialisasi, pendapatan dan kebahagiaan. Kedua, bentuk-bentuk stres; fisik dan psikis. Ketiga, peyebab stres; (1). tugas rumah dan kantor bersamaan, (2). disiplin ketat, (3). tuntutan karir, (4). menjemput anak, (5). punya bayi, (6). atasan otoriter, (7). suasana kantor tidak nyaman, (8). kenaikan pangkat atau jabatan. Keempat, Faktor ketidakadilan gender; (1). beban ganda, (2). direndahkan (3). anggapan guru perempuan irasional, (4). kekerasan psikis atau kekerasan verbal (5). peminggiran atau pemiskinan. Kelima, Solusi; (1). saling menghormati (2). sabar, terbuka, bertanggung jawab, saling peduli, atau menghindar dari kedekatan dengan yang berwatak keras dan menyakitkan. (3). sakit ringan tetap kerja dan curhat pada teman dekat, tetapi sakit berat minta ijin (5). membuat skala prioritas pekerjaan. Abstract:The purpose of this study was to reveal the working stress of female teachers in Kasihan Bantul Yogyakarta. The research type was qualitative descriptive research with phenomenological paradigm, ethnographic model, and culturalpsychological approach. The research method was depth interview. The research subjects were female married teachers who had children and experienced working stress. The results: first, the women became teachers because of self-actualization, socialization, income and happiness. Second, the forms of stress; physical and psychological. Third, cause of stress; (1) simultaneous tasks of home and office, (2) strict discipline, (3) career demand, (4) picking up the child, (5) having a baby, (6) authoritarian boss, (7) uncomfortable office environment, (8) job position promotion. Fourth, gender inequality factors: (1) double burden, (2) being degraded (3) irrational assumption to female teachers, (4) psychological violence or verbal abuse (5) marginalization. Fifth, solution: (1) mutual respect (2) patient, open, responsible, caring, or avoidance of closeness to the hard and painful character, (3) still working in mild pain and just confiding to close friend, but asking permission when having ill, (5) making a priority job. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model penilaian keterampilan intrapribadi dan antarpribadi dalam pendidikan karakter di SD yang valid, reliabel, dan cocok secara statistik. Penelitian ini menggunakan model research and development dari Plomp dengan lima fase, yaitu: investigasi, desain, realisasi, tes, dan implementasi. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas V SD di DI Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, dokumentasi, wawancara, FGD, dan observasi. Permasalahan yang ditemukan di Dusun Brajan Tamantirto Kasihan Bantul, antara lain: adanya potensi bahan alami berupa aneka ragam tumbuhan yang belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik, kurangnya ketrampilan ibu ibu aktivis aisyiyah dalam mengelola potensi alam desa untuk meningkatkan penghasilan, dan belum membudayanya batik yang ramah lingkungan di kalangan ibu ibu aktivis aisyiyah. Tujuan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini yaitu: (1) memberikan solusi berupa pemanfaatan potensi bahan alam yang dimiliki dusun Brajan, dan (2) meningkatkan keterampilan aktivis aisyiyah dalam menciptakan batik yang alami. (3) menambah sumber ekonomi keluarga. Kontribusi Program Kemitraan Masyarakat ini yaitu Melalui pelatihan pembuatan ecoprint dengan memanfaatkan bahan alami yang ada di lingkungan Dusun Brajan Tamantirto Kasihan, maka dapat memberikan manfaat langsung terhadap kehidupan aktivis aisyiyah dan masyarakat Brajan di bidang sosial dan ekonomi melalui ketrampilan batik ecoprint serta dapat meningkatkan kualitas sumberdaya melalui pemberdayaan ibu-ibu aktivis Aisyiyah Ranting Tamantirto Tengah yang meliputi Sembilan Kelompok Majlis Taklim di Dusun Brajan Tamantirto Kasihan. Hasil Pelatihan ecoprint ini (1) dapat meningkatkan kesadaran aktivis Aisyiyah untuk memanfaatkan potensi desa untuk meningkatkan kesehjahteraan keluarga. (2) dapat meningkatkan ketrampilan dalam membuat batik yang berasal dari bahan alam. (3) dapat menambah pendapatan keluarga.
This research aims to find the concept of child education in the story of the single true mother in the Qur'an. The study uses library studies with subjective hermeneutic approaches. The results of the study were found: first, the current status of single mother hakiki and single mother majazi. Second, the relevance of children's education in the story of single mothers follows the stage of the psychology of child development. It is starting from the prenatal phase, covering the child's spiritual and physical education. In the postnatal period, it includes education, supervision and responsible children.
