Straipsnyje nagrinėjama, kokie įvaizdžiai apie moterį mokslininkę (fizinių ir technologinių mokslų srityse) vyrauja tarp paauglių, ar tokias nuostatas lemia lyčių stereotipai. Tyrimas atskleidė šiuos vyraujančius moters mokslininkės įvaizdžius: patrauklios ir kompetentingos mokslininkės, nepatrauklios darboholikės, seksualios mokslininkės, neutraliai atrodančios mokslininkės. Paaiškėjo, kad paaugliams, ypač vaikinams, būdingi stereotipiniai ir pakankamai negatyvūs tradiciškai vyriškoje srityje dirbančios moters mokslininkės vertinimai, o merginos daugiau teigiamai ir neutraliai įsivaizduoja tokią moterį, pabrėždamos komunikacinę bei profesinę jos kompetencijas.
A professional educational career-related choice that is understood as a process of decision-making that includes several career options is one of the most important decisions in human life. A chosen professional career path influences all areas of human life such as creation of close relations and family, social status, leisure, improvement, mobility, etc. When members of Generation Y who are characteristic of different values and behaviours start to dominate in the labour market over the preceding Generation X, the conflict of generation that arises complicates labour relations. Thus, the aim of this study is to define what are the characteristics of career-related choices of Generation Y and Generation X? How are characteristics of these choices related to the properties of each generation as highlighted in the generational theory as well as the historical and cultural contexts that have formed them? The following methods of research data collection where used: analysis of scientific literature and interview. The data obtained was analysed using qualitative content analysis. <p><em>This paper aims to analyse the role that cultural centres in Lithuania and Lithuanian cultural organisations in the Kaliningrad region and Belarus play in organizing educational activities for the local communities. The aim of this article is to identify functions ofthe educationalactivitiesof cultural centres and Lithuanian cultural organisations revealing theirimpact on thelocal communitydevelopment. </em><em>Semi-structured interviews were conducted in 4 Lithuanian cultural centres and 6 Lithuanian cultural organisations of border regions in Lithuania, Belarus, and Russia, the Kaliningrad region. The sample consists of </em><em>55 informants from Lithuanian cultural communities and cultural centres. The content analysis and comparative analysis methods were applied for the data analysis. The study revealed that educational activities would lead to active participation of members in community development. The </em><em>following </em><em>functions</em><em> of educational activities</em><em>we</em><em>re identified: dissemination of knowledge, empowerment, self-realization, enlightenment, value development, recreation, communication, national identitystrengthening, and community mobilization.</em><em> </em></p><p> </p>
Sector of technological and physical sciences is exceptionally male professional area. It is rather difficult to motivate girls already in the school for career in this field. Professional gender stereotypes are one of the main reasons that impact attitudes towards girls in this male area. In this young age both parents and teachers play an important role as well as dominating images in media, forming aspirations concerning professional career. Thus, the school environment is particularly significant as motivating or demotivating girls to select this pathway of their professional career. This paper is aimed to identify factors significant for development of professional motivation for technological and physical sciences among schoolgirls in Lithuanian schools. The sample consisted of 1398 schoolchildren (58 % females and 42 % males) from 33 Lithuanian schools. The average age of the schoolchildren was 16-17 years. The study was financed by Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania.The results of the empirical analysis indicated that boys expressed stronger professional motivation and showed higher interest in IT and Physics practicing the related activities on their free time, whereas girls expressed lower evaluation of their abilities to learn IT and Physics and more follow gender stereotypes.
Profesinis identitetas, aiškinamas kaip savęs supratimas atliekant profesinius vaidmenis, yra vienas iš svarbiausių karjeros sėkmę ir pasitenkinimą karjera lemiančių veiksnių. Informacinių technologijų specialisto profesija, kaip ir kitos technologinės profesijos, siejama su vyriškumu, loginiu mąstymu, t. y. itin griežtu stereotipiniu vertinimu lyties aspektu. Informacinių technologijų studijų programas teikiančių aukštųjų mokyklų profesionalams ir karjeros konsultantams aktualu atpažinti šias programas besirenkančių jaunuolių profesinio identiteto raiškos užuomazgas ir lyčių skirtumus formuojantis profesiniam identitetui, siekiant optimalių karjeros sprendimų.
