Digital literacy is a critical skill that administrative staff must acquire to continue their business activities at higher education. However, digital literacy studies for administrative staff seem to be neglected in the current literature. This article examines the impact of higher education administrative staff’s digital literacy on their intention to use digital technologies while performing their tasks. For this purpose, a conceptual model consisting of effort expectancy and performance expectancy structures based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology and expanded with the digital literacy dimension has been created. Data were collected from 158 participants who were administrative staff of two higher education institutions in Türkiye to evaluate the theoretical model. The data were analysed using the structural equation modelling technique. The findings revealed the relationship between the digital literacy skills of higher education administrative staff and their intention to use digital technology. According to the results, digital literacy has a direct effect on effort expectancy but not on performance expectancy. Also, contrary to our expectations, digital literacy does not directly affect the intention to use. However, digital literacy affects the intention to use digital technology through effort expectancy and performance expectancy. In higher education, personnel with low digital literacy skills should be identified and in-service training should be provided. This is one of the first studies to address the impact of digital literacy on technology acceptance by administrative staff working in higher education.
The evolution stages of e-government services should be well-established for more effective e-government services and more satisfied citizens. This study aims to determine factors affecting e-government services with an emphasis on demographic attributes in a developing country. Particularly, the study investigates the effectiveness of past e-government services in terms of their contribution to human life. For these purposes, the data obtained from 2011 Life Satisfaction Survey were analyzed using four distinctive ordered response models including ordered logit, generalized ordered logit, heterogeneous choice model and partial constrained generalized ordered logit models due to the natural ordering of the dependent variable. The results of this study show that there are significant relationships among the factors that influence perception of e-government, namely, current residence, educational level, and occupational sector for all models, additionally household size for heterogeneous choice model. Consequently, partial constrained generalized logit model was found to have more parsimonious than other models. This study was probably the first attempt to analyze e-government service quality using four different ordered response models in e-government research literature. The outcome of this study may provide valuable information and enable benchmarking options for future e-government policies.
Purpose: This study primarily examines the mediating effect of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on the relationship between trust and mobile banking use. Methodology: For this purpose, university students studying at different levels at a state university in Turkey were chosen as the research population and the data were collected through a field study using a convenience sampling method and a face-to-face survey technique. SEM data analysis was conducted by using SPSS v20 and AMOS v20. Results: The findings revealed a direct and positive relationship between the trust factor and mobile banking platform usage, and that the factors of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a partial mediating effect in this relationship. Conclusion: As a result, it is predicted that many different factors affect user preferences in the use of mobile banking platforms, these factors directly or indirectly affect compliance, adoption, and use, and it is necessary to focus more on these factors for the future of banking with the effect of digitalization.
