In settings like rural area or home delivery in which oxytocin is not available, alternative oral TA plus buccal misoprostol may be considered as an effective line in prevention of PPH.
Agriculture and industrial wastes (AIWs) have attracted much attention because of their huge environmental, economic, and social impacts. AIWs have been considered a crucial link of a closed-loop for the fabrication of nanomaterials and composites wherein they replace traditional resources with sustainable waste in waste management. In this context, the proper disposal of AIWs is required. This review aims to investigate the technical feasibility of using innovative AIW resources and various strategies for the fabrication of nanomaterials for improving energy applications. First, the utilization of AIWs is classified comprehensively. Second, key technologies to produce nanomaterials are summarized. In addition, this review discusses the potential applications of the fabricated nanomaterials in energy storage and energy conversion.
Soft robots provide a pathway to accurately mimic biological creatures and be integrated into their environment with minimal invasion or disruption to their ecosystem. These robots made from soft deforming materials possess structural properties and behaviors similar to the bodies and organs of living creatures. However, they are difficult to develop in terms of integrated actuation and sensing, accurate modeling, and precise control. This article presents a soft-rigid hybrid robotic fish inspired by the Pangasius fish. The robot employs a flexible fin ray tail structure driven by a servo motor, to act as the soft body of the robot and provide the undulatory motion to the caudal fin of the fish. To address the modeling and control challenges, reinforcement learning (RL) is proposed as a model-free control strategy for the robot fish to swim and reach a specified target goal. By training and investigating the RL through experiments on real hardware, we illustrate the capability of the fish to learn and achieve the required task.
Cesarean section for obstructed labor remains a difficult procedure that may be associated with serious fetal and maternal injuries. In this case series, we evaluated the use of abdominal disimpaction with lower segment support as a novel technique to minimize morbidities. Eight patients who underwent cesarean section for obstructed labor were recruited. Impacted fetal head was delivered using this technique and uterine extensions, bladder injury, vaginal injury, and intraoperative bleeding were reported. Maternal and neonatal outcomes were observed postoperatively. No major morbidities were reported. Accordingly, we consider this technique as a promising step to minimize complications during cesarean section for obstructed labor.
