The Internet of Things (IoT) has enabled the invention of smart health monitoring systems. These health monitoring systems can track a person’s mental and physical wellness. Stress, anxiety, and hypertension are key causes of many physical and mental disorders. Age-related problems such as stress, anxiety, and hypertension necessitate specific attention in this setting. Stress, anxiety, and blood pressure monitoring can prevent long-term damage by detecting problems early. This will increase the quality of life and reduce caregiver stress and healthcare costs. Determine fresh technology solutions for real-time stress, anxiety, and blood pressure monitoring using discreet wearable sensors and machine learning approaches. This study created an automated artefact detection method for BP and PPG signals. It was proposed to automatically remove outlier points generated by movement artefacts from the blood pressure signal. Next, eleven features taken from the oscillometric waveform envelope were utilised to analyse the relationship between diastolic blood pressure (SBP) and systolic blood pressure (DBP). This paper validates a proposed computational method for estimating blood pressure. The proposed architecture leverages sophisticated regression to predict systolic and diastolic blood pressure values from PPG signal characteristics.
This study describes the process of construction and evolution of the software development of the mobile application that allows patient-doctor-specialist interaction in rural areas of Iraq and helps the patient receive prompt medical guidance without the need for unnecessary transfers because the doctor, general or specialist, can provide it through the application. The construction of the application was carried out using the Design Thinking process to obtain the MVP3 (minimum viable product) and the Running Lean process to perform the iterations and reach the application that adds value to the user. For the application software development, the evolutionary development model and some activities of the agile scrum framework were applied.
Predicting the trajectories of neighboring vehicles is essential to evade or mitigate collision with traffic participants. However, due to inadequate previous information and the uncertainty in future driving maneuvers, trajectory prediction is a difficult task. Recently, trajectory prediction models using deep learning have been addressed to solve this problem. In this study, a method of early warning is presented using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation technique, which evaluates the danger degree of the target by comprehensively analyzing the target’s position, horizontal and vertical distance, speed of the vehicle, and the time of the collision. Because of the high false alarm rate in the early warning systems, an early warning activation area is established in the system, and the target state judgment module is triggered only when the target enters the activation area. This strategy improves the accuracy of early warning, reduces the false alarm rate, and also speeds up the operation of the early warning system. The proposed system can issue early warning prompt information to the driver in time and avoid collision accidents with accuracy up to 96%. The experimental results show that the proposed trajectory prediction method can significantly improve the vehicle network collision detection and early warning system.
Lifestyle influences morbidity and mortality rates in the world. Physical activity, a healthy weight, and a healthy diet are key preventative health behaviours that help reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and its complications, such as cardiovascular disease. A healthy lifestyle has been shown to prevent or delay chronic diseases and their complications, but few people follow all recommended self-management behaviours. This work seeks to improve knowledge of factors affecting type 2 diabetes self-management and prevention through lifestyle changes. This paper describes the design, development, and testing of a diabetes self-management mobile app. The app tracked dietary consumption and health data. Bluetooth movement data from a pair of wearable insole devices are used to track carbohydrate intake, blood glucose, medication adherence, and physical activity. Two machine learning models were constructed to recognise sitting and standing. The SVM and decision tree models were 86% accurate for these tasks. The decision tree model is used in a real-time activity classification app. It is exciting to see more and more mobile health self-management apps being used to treat chronic diseases.
A cross-sectional study of patients with suspected diabetic retinopathy (DR) who had an ophthalmological examination and a retinal scan is the focus of this research. Specialized retinal images were analyzed and classified using OPF and RBM models (restricted Boltzmann machines). Classification of retinographs was based on the presence or absence of disease-related retinopathy (DR). The RBM and OPF models extracted 500 and 1000 characteristics from the images for disease classification after the system training phase for the recognition of retinopathy and normality patterns. There were a total of fifteen different experiment series, each with a repetition rate of 30 cycles. The study included 73 diabetics (a total of 122 eyes), with 50.7% of them being men and 49.3% being women. The population was on the older side, at 59.7 years old on average. The RBM-1000 had the highest overall diagnostic accuracy (89.47) of any of the devices evaluated. The RBM-500 had a better autodetection system for DR signals in fundus images than the competition (100% sensitivity). In terms of specificity, RBM-1000 and OPF-1000 correctly identified all of the images that lacked DR signs. In particular, the RBM model of machine learning automatic disease detection performed well in terms of diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, and application in diabetic retinopathy screening.
Using federated learning, which is a distributed machine learning approach, a machine learning model can train on a distributed data set without having to transfer any data between computers. Instead of using a centralised server for training, the model uses data stored locally on the device itself. After that, the server uses this model to create a jointly trained model. Federated learning asserts that privacy is preserved because no data is sent. Botnet attacks are detected using on-device decentralised traffic statistics and a deep autoencoder. This proposed federated learning approach addresses privacy and security concerns about data privacy and security rather than allowing data to be transferred or relocated off the network edge. In order to get the intended results of a previously centralised machine learning technique while also increasing data security, computation will be shifted to the edge layer. Up to 98% accuracy is achieved in anomaly detection with our proposed model using features like MAC IP and source/destination/IP for training. Our solution outperforms a standard centrally managed system in terms of attack detection accuracy, according to our comparative performance analysis.
