This article begins the study of irreducible maps involving finite-dimensional uniserial modules over finite-dimensional associative algebras. We work on the classification of irreducible maps between two uniserials over triangular algebras, and give estimates for the number of middle terms of an almost split sequence with a uniserial end term.
Abstract. S.-P. Liu and C. Paquette defined a class of artin algebras, more general than the standardly stratified ones, called quasi-stratified algebras. Not only is the Cartan Determinant Conjecture (CDC) true for these algebras, so is its converse. This article shows that this class of algebras is preserved under "pruning" sources and sinks from the left quiver. It compares the classes of quasi-stratified and left serial algebras, as well as quasi-stratified and gentle algebras. Holm has shown that the CDC holds for gentle algebras; the converse is also established. It is shown when a Yamagata family of algebras of large finite global dimension yield quasi-stratified ones and constructs quasi-stratified elementary algebras from smaller ones.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
