Photolysis of W(CO) 6 in the presence of Ph 2 SiH 2 in n-heptane leads to the formation of the first µ-silyleneditungsten complex (µ-SiPh 2 )W 2 (CO) 10 . The molecular structure of the new silylene compound was established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies and characterized by IR and 1 H, 13 C{ 1 H}, and 29 Si{ 1 H} NMR spectroscopy. In CDCl 3 solution the silylene compound reacts with bicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene to give W(CO) 5 (η 2 -C 7 H 10 ) and 1,3cyclopentylenevinylene.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
