Descrever cronologicamente a história clínica e atuação fonoaudiológica em um caso de cardiopatia congênita de alto risco. Foi realizado a partir do levantamento de dados no prontuário do Serviço de Arquivo Médico e Estatístico (SAME), da Fundação Hospital de Clínicas Gaspar Vianna (FHCGV). Metodologia: Trata-se de uma abordagem qualitativa, onde foi construído um relato de caso com a colheita de dados sobre o acompanhamento fonoaudiológico na clínica de Cardiopediatria da FHCGV. Aplicado o Termo de Compromisso para Utilização de Dados e Prontuários (TCUD). Resultados e Discussão: Paciente do gênero feminino, parto cesariano, 38 semanas e 5 dias. Durante a amamentação, a mãe observou que a bebê apresentava cianose e esforço respiratório, diante disto, levou à pediatra, que a encaminhou com urgência para acompanhamento em um Hospital de referência em cardiologia. Após avaliação teve como diagnóstico: Dupla Via de Saída de Ventrículo Direito (DVSVD) + Comunicação Interatrial (CIA) + Comunicação Interventricular (CIV) + Atresia Pulmonar. Recém-nascidos acometidos possuem um potencial considerável para broncoaspiração. A intervenção fonoaudiológica avalia o processo de deglutição, em busca de atingir maior segurança e eficácia durante o ato. Considerações finais: Nota-se a importância do fonoaudiólogo na equipe multidisciplinar dentro das unidades de terapia intensiva e clínica médica pediátricas, pois é o profissional habilitado na reabilitação das disfagias, além de potencializar uma alta hospitalar segura.
