En 2019 se realizó en la Ciudad de México la 41.a Marcha del Orgullo LGBTTTI bajo el lema “41: Ser es resistir”, que enclavaba en la famosa redada de 1901 esa posibilidad de ser nombrado como acto de resistencia en la comunidad. Establecía en esa fecha el momento en que México pudo romper el silencio y el odio del tradicionalismo, y tener la posibilidad de verbalizar la identidad. En 2021, Netflix lanzó en su plataforma de video bajo demanda (VOD) la película El baile de los 41 (2020), dirigida por David Pablos. La guionista, Monika Revilla, fundó su decisión de retomar el episodio en la necesidad de dar seriedad a un suceso que consideraba una “salida del clóset de la homosexualidad en la sociedad mexicana”. Ambos elementos ponen de manifiesto la importancia del famoso baile como histoidentitario. En este texto se propone analizar el filme a través de la idea de construcción de cánones de memoria por efecto de la remediación. Se toma como metáfora de análisis el trabajo de Carlos Monsiváis respecto al acto, para evidenciar la manera en que un producto fílmico de la plataforma de VOD recupera distintas remediaciones para reiterar la idea de un hecho mítico para la comunidad LGBTTQ+, a partir del cual se pueden entender las luchas por derechos en función de valores presentes que se explican en un pasado específico.
El estudio de la representación del pasado en los medios audiovisuales ha sido enfocado,tradicionalmente, a partir de la categoría de “historia”. En este artículo, cuestionamoslos límites de ese enfoque tradicional, para argumentar cómo la categoría de memoriacultural proporciona un marco teórico y conceptual más adecuado para comprender elpapel de los medios de comunicación, en general, y de la ficción televisiva, en particular,en la construcción social de sentidos sobre el pasado.PALABRAS CLAVE: TELEVISIÓN; FICCIÓN; HISTORIA; MEMORIA CULTURAL
