A Covid-19 é uma doença de alta infectividade que tem produzido colapso dos sistemas de saúde ao redor do mundo e em alguns estados brasileiros. O objetivo do estudo é desvelar os sentidos produzidos sobre as mortes em decorrência da Covid-19 no Brasil, a partir de narrativas e vivências dos familiares de vítimas fatais. Foi realizado uma revisão bibliográfica, de base qualitativa, no período entre 16 março e 26 de abril de 2020, a partir de matérias jornalísticas digitais de grande circulação nacional. Foram analisadas cinco matérias jornalísticas das vítimas fatais da Covid-19, a maioria das vítimas possuía 60 anos de idade ou mais, apresentavam comorbidades, o óbito aconteceu no âmbito hospitalar e o tempo de duração dos rituais foi reduzido em relação aos habituais. Nas narrativas esteve presente o sentimento de dor e sofrimento pela impossibilidade de despedida dos familiares. Palavras-Chave: Morte; Covid-19; Luto; Despedida.
