Rev. salud pública. 13 (6) Resultados El promedio de edad fue de 59,3 años; predominó género femenino, 61,3 %; estado civil casado, 43,0 %; ocupación hogar, 38,7 %; escolaridad primaria, 38,7 %; y estratos socio-económicos 2 y 3, 68,8 %. El 93,5 % de los participantes tienen liación a la seguridad social en salud. Las heridas complejas se caracterizaron por presentar mayor porcentaje en la fase proliferativa de la cicatrización, 80,6 %; medir de seis a diez centímetros, 63,4 %; no reportar infecciones, 85 %; no presentar amputación, 90,3 %; ni dolor relacionado con la herida, 52,7 % y presentar limitación física relacionada con la herida, 66,7 %. Conclusiones Las personas perciben su CVRS como mala, resaltando con baja puntuación las dimensiones de plenitud personal, funcionamiento ocupacional y bienestar físico y psicológico.Palabras Clave: Calidad de vida, salud, promoción de la salud, atención domiciliaria de salud (fuente: DeCS, BIREME). ABSTRACTObjective Estimating the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of people suffering complex wounds who were receiving care in an extramural health service provider institution in Cartagena during May-June 2010.
Introducción: Ante una enfermedad cardiovascular, elegir como tratamiento un procedimiento invasivo, se constituye en una experiencia estresante para el paciente y su familia por el riesgo de presentar complicaciones que aumentan su morbilidad o la mortalidad. Objetivo: Determinar la capacidad de afrontamiento y adaptación de los Cuidadores Principales Familiares de pacientes sometidos a procedimientos cardioinvasivos. Materiales y métodos: Estudio descriptivo transversal, participaron 230 cuidadores principales familiares de pacientes sometidos a procedimientos cardioinvasivos. Se utilizó una encuesta sociodemográfica y la escala de medición del proceso de afrontamiento y adaptación de Callista Roy, versión en español abreviada. Los datos se analizaron mediante estadística descriptiva. Resultados: La edad promedio de los sujetos fue de 40,8 años, el 93,9% fueron hombres. De acuerdo al puntaje global (PG), del total de los cuidadores principales familiares el 47% (PG: 0-56) y el 50% (PG: 57-70) presentan baja y mediana capacidad de afrontamiento y adaptación respectivamente. Conclusión: Los cuidadores familiares principales presentaron una baja y mediana capacidad de afrontamiento y adaptación, condición que les impide comprender el estrés al que están sometidos, responder de manera adecuada a los estímulos focales, facilitar la recuperación y rehabilitación de la enfermedad.
