En la primera parte se introduce el criterio de teoreticidad de Sneed (1971) y posteriormente las propuestas de Stegmüler (1973, 1976) y Balzer y Moulines (1980, 1985), considerando a todas ellas como perspectivas "pragmáticas". A continuación se presenta la perspectiva de Balzer (1986, 1996) y se le inscribe dentro de las perspectivas "semánticas" de la problemática.En la segunda parte, el trabajo se centra en el problema de los compromisos ontosemánticos que acarrea la distinción entre términos T-teóricos y T-no-teóricos; en el marco de la propuesta pragmática, particularmente la de Moulines (1982, 1984, 1991, 1994, 1998, 2002). Se realiza una evaluación de la misma, señalando en qué aspectos representa ésta una innovación importante en la elucidación metateórica de la ontosemántica de las teorías científicas, y en qué otros presenta limitaciones.
La presente contribución propone abordar la problemática del conocimiento científico y su vinculación con otros modos de conocimiento, de forma de revisar las concepciones y dicotomías estandarizadas al respecto. El objetivo es considerar esta revisión acerca de qué entendemos por “conocimiento”, en particular desde el ámbito académico institucional como una condición de posibilidad de una práctica universitaria de integralidad. Se trata de indagar, por un lado, las concepciones de conocimiento desde el ámbito de producción de la universidad y, por otro, las concepciones y valoraciones de otras formas de conocimiento tanto como las relaciones que se establecen entre las mismas. Se estima que la temática resulta central a la hora de pensar el vínculo entre las funciones sustantivas de la universidad: un ámbito de relación entre la enseñanza, la investigación y la extensión.
Se reconstruye la “teoría clásica transformacional” de Chomsky en el marco de la teoría estructuralista de la ciencia. Se describen tanto los rasgos formales como los empíricos de la versión clásica, de modo de que puedan ser formuladas las hipótesis de la teoría, en las cuales se expresan las nociones centrales, y se clarifica la “clásica” distinción entre estructura superficial y estructura profunda. En la afirmación empírica de esta teoría están interconectadas inseparablemente palabras, oraciones y entidades de alta estructuración. Se sostiene que la estructura formal del lenguaje natural no es aproximadamente la misma que como se da en la teoría empírica en general. Se clarifican dos puntos que afectan la estructura de la noción de teoría empírica, esto es, la delimitación de las aplicaciones intencionales y el modo en que se ajustan los datos y los modelos. Se sostiene que el concepto de afirmación empírica para una teoría lingüística podría ser generalizada en comparación con la visión estructuralista “estándar”.
