Based on the understanding that the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can contribute positively to the meaning of historical knowledge and to the motivation of students in the school environment, we investigate, in the Middle School level, from public schools, in the city of Pelotas/RS, how History teachers perceive ICT and how they are used in their pedagogical practice. Considering the number of teachers that we wanted to access and the short time for conducting the research, we opted for the application of an inquiry with the teachers of the specific area and we obtained a return of 68% of the teachers. We found that they identify students' motivation when ICT are used in the school environment; however, its use is limited by the lack of structural resources in the institutions and by the lack of continuing education for educators on the use of ICT in pedagogical practice.
En ciudades latinoamericanas de tamaño intermedio, uno de los modos más utilizados para los desplazamientos urbanos es el transporte público; sin embargo, la percepción de inseguridad ante ciertas situaciones ha ocasionado en los usuarios una barrera que condiciona su uso, especialmente para las mujeres. El propósito de esta investigación es establecer cómo la percepción de inseguridad incide en el uso del transporte público a partir de la identificación de situaciones que, desde cada género, son percibidas como inseguras, tomando como caso de estudio a Tunja, Colombia. Se aplicó una Encuesta de Percepción de Inseguridad y se realizó un análisis estadístico que permitió identificar que, a diferencia de los hombres, las mujeres cambian su comportamiento de viaje ante situaciones percibidas como inseguras. Así, la planificación del sistema de transporte debería incluir la percepción de inseguridad y el género al diseñar una política pública cuyo propósito sea satisfacer las necesidades de movilidad.
The book Boletim Vida Escolar: uma fonte e múltiplas leituras sobre a educação no início do século XX (Boletim Vida Escolar: a source and multiple readings about education from the beginning of the 20 th Century), organized by Ana Maria de Oliveira Galvão and Eliane Marta Teixeira Lopes, was recently released and brings together texts from five researchers from the History of Education Study and Research Group of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), written especially for the book. The chapters adopt different approaches to the same subject, the Boletim Vida Escolar, which circulated in Lavras (MG) between May 1907 and November 1908. Studies of educational publications are recurrent in the field of History of Education, since they allow details to emerge of the tensions present in the educational debate. The educational press produced more intensely from the second half of the nineteenth century, especially training material for teachers, considering the limited amount of textbooks available for this function. In the twentieth century the educational press extended its approach and the emergence of publications affiliated with different institutions can be observed. Boletim Vida Escolar fits into this logic, it was a publication of the Lavras School Group, created on May 13, 1907. Its director, Firmino Coast, was also the editor of the Boletim. The publication consisted of four pages, was issued fortnightly, with 34 issues being published in total. The texts presented in the publication were didactic or educational, with some being informative. It should be noted that it circulated in various locations in the municipality and the state, which indicates a wide dissemination of the ideas it published. O presente estudo aborda a racialização no Ensino Técnico Profissional pelotense no recorte temporal da década de 1930. A luta pela educação sempre foi uma pauta da população negra, busca-se nesta reflexão apontar algumas iniciativas neste sentido e analisar a consolidação da Educação Técnico Profissional em uma cidade do sul do país. A proposta metodológica está alocada na perspectiva qualitativa, com abordagem histórica, técnica afiliada na análise documental. A população pelotense no período em estudo era composta majoritariamente por negros, contudo esses sujeitos não aparecem na mesma proporção nos bancos escolares, o que nos indica que essa instituição se constitui no município produzindo um espaço racializado e de branquitude.
