El objetivo principal de esta investigación fue identificar los factores que influyen en la motivación intrínseca durante el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de inglés como Lengua Extranjera. Esta fue una investigación cualitativa de tipo descriptivo, ya que los datos se describieron, analizaron e interpretaron los datos con precisión y claridad; además, no hubo influencia en ninguna de las variables: la motivación intrínseca y el aprendizaje de inglés como Lengua Extranjera; por lo tanto, el investigador no tuvo influencia ni en el comportamiento ni en la naturaleza de las variables. Este fue también un estudio de campo, puesto que, los datos fueron recolectados directamente de los sujetos estudiados y del lugar donde ocurrieron los hechos, sin cambiar las condiciones. Se aplicó el instrumento del cuestionario, una encuesta compuesta por 12 preguntas cerradas y una pregunta abierta que fue aplicada a 68 estudiantes de Nivel III de inglés. Los resultados demostraron que la motivación intrínseca influye en el aprendizaje, los estudiantes manifestaron que no les gusta inglés, que solo estudian o hacen tareas porque necesitan ser promovidos al próximo nivel; además, no trabajan de manera autónoma o sienten la necesidad de repetir una tarea para mejorar su conocimiento; los estudiantes solo buscan obtener mínimas calificaciones que les permitan ser promovidos al próximo nivel. Adicionalmente, los estudiantes mencionaron que existen algunos factores que limitan su motivación por aprender inglés, entre esas tenemos: demasiados deberes, tareas, contenidos y número de horas asignadas a las clases de inglés; poco interés y paciencia de parte de los docentes al momento de explicar temas gramaticales; miedo a hablar causado por las críticas y burlas de sus compañeros. Se recomienda a los docentes buscar estrategias que motiven el desarrollo de la autoestima, curiosidad y autonomía de los estudiantes dentro de las clases de inglés.
El objetivo de la presente investigación, fue realizar un diagnóstico de actividades didácticas en el aprendizaje del idioma de los niños de educación básica sexto y séptimo grado de la Escuela García Moreno del barrio del Batán de la ciudad de Riobamba. Para ello, se aplicó un conjunto de actividades didácticas orientadas a la evaluación de las destrezas de listening, reading speaking y writing del idioma inglés, tales como: organizadores, mentefactos, formulación de oraciones, actividades de sugestión, diálogos, etc. La investigación fue enfocada sobre la aplicación de un proceso pedagógico en el aprendizaje de inglés, siendo de tipo descriptiva, bibliográfica de campo y explicativa aplicada en una población y muestra de 5 docentes y 44 estudiantes con similar nivel de conocimientos del idioma inglés. Para la recolección de datos se utilizaron las técnicas de las encuestas y el test. La información recolectada fue tabulada y representada mediante tablas y gráficos estadísticos para luego analizarla e interpretarla. Los resultados permitieron establecer que la diversificación de las actividades permitió motivar a los estudiantes en las competencias comunicacionales. Así también sirve como una línea base del proceso pedagógico del desarrollado del aprendizaje del idioma inglés para la aplicación de propuestas, mediante estrategias orientadas a definir incidencias o mejoras.
Introduction. Speaking is considered one of the most difficult skills to be developed in class when teaching a foreign language. Therefore, teachers need to look for alternatives to enhance learners’ oral production. In this regard, Communicative activities (CA) play a fundamental role in language teaching due to the fact they provide them with opportunities to use language as in real situations. Objective. The main goal of this research is to provide a general overview of Communicative activities to enhance oral production in the EFL classroom. Methodology. This article was based on the qualitative approach. A descriptive - documentary research was carried out through an extensive bibliographic literature review about the main principles of the Communicative Approach, communicative activities, types of CA, and speaking. Results. Results from the reviewed research investigations show that they are quite useful for teachers and learners since CA facilitate learners’ oral production employing the interaction among classmates and teachers. Conclusion. Besides, Communicative activities encourage learners to develop their language competencies due to the dynamic in which these activities are carried out in the EFL classroom.
